Personally, TLIG has helped me to understand God better, especially the Holy Spirit. When I first was introduced to the messages, I read them for a little while but then put them down as I got distracted with other things ( I was around 14 when I first encountered them) But then a year or so later I wanted very badly to know God more deeply. To meet Him more intimatly. (smile) And then I had this uncontrollable desire to phone my father and ask if I could read 'that book I started reading...the 'Jesus Book'" ( I could not remember the title, but I remember that it had a picture of Jesus on the cover, hence the 'nickname')

I drove to my father's that day and picked it up. I could hardly wait to start reading it again! I felt such excitement and anticipation, like Jesus was with me smiling and telling me, "If you want to know Me, if you want to get closer to Me, come and read My Love Letter." For months I spent all of my free time immersed in His Love, kneeling at His feet, soaking up what He was teaching me through the messages. I have learned a lot about our Triune God and He became a person that I could now not only love and worship as God and Creator, but who I could really know as a friend. It was like Jesus specifically was sitting next to me and telling me about Himself, like a friend does. I got to know Jesus as my best friend as well as my God. Years have passed since that first realization and I feel so close to God. I love Him so!
Every time I feel scard or whenever I want to kneel at the feet of God and listen to what He has to say, I open whatever volume of the messages I am reading at that time and I immedatly calm down and this beautiful peace surrounds me.

I have become a better person because of these messages. Christ is teaching me how to please Him even more and I try to do everything I can to make Him happy. He is my God and I love Him to folly. St. Paul could not have said it better:

For me to live, is Christ.
