I'm just back from the TLIG pilgrimage in Russia. I will post more material later but I just wanted to post a couple of things which struck me as significant.

The first meeting on the first day began with the following recording of the Russian National Anthem. It was a very moving experience that brought tears to many. Somehow, during it, we reflected on the significance of what were experiencing, a group of 700 pilgrims joining Vassula on this remarkable journey.

Here are the words of the anthem which were finalised in around 2000 after the communist words were replaced. Here are the current words:

    Russia – our sacred state,
    Russia – our beloved country.
    A mighty will, a great glory –
    Yours forever for all time!

    Be glorious, our free Fatherland,
    Ancient union of brotherly peoples,
    Ancestor-given wisdom of the people!
Be glorious, our country! We are proud of you!

From the southern seas to the polar lands
Spread are our forests and fields.
You are unique in the world, one of a kind –
This native land protected by God!

Wide expanse for dreams and for living
Are opened for us by the coming years
Our loyalty to the Fatherland gives us strength.
So it was, so it is, and so it always will be!

I will also post the first couple of minutes of a witness by muslim convert Afshin Javid who was a Hezbollah fighter until Jesus appeared to him. I just captured this clip from the back of the hall on my mobile.

The full testimony was incredible and I will post the complete thing as soon as it becomes available.

For those unfamiliar with his testimony, I will copy here his original testimony which was first published many years ago.

And now Ashfin's full testimony in Moscow has become available and here it is:

Welcome back David! I hope you and all who went enjoy many blessings!
Alas I would love to have gone, but could not at this time.
No doubt it will bear much fruit. Events in the world are speeding up!
An eclipse in the USA which was a prelude to massive flooding. The times are pressing.

Looking back at Russia under communism this below from Fulton Sheen in the 1950s
Back then he celebrated mass with a chalice from Russia, wore a Russian cross on his chest given to him by
a Jewish friend. He held the Russian people very dear. He and many in heaven must be rejoicing at the renewal
    taking place there now.

David, wonderful videos, thank you for posting them. It is wonderful that Afshin was part of the pilgrimage. I just love his testimony, it is so moving and a beautiful example of Christ's Love & Mercy. I'm looking forward to seeing his TLIG testimony along with any others that you can post for us.

I see that Afshin posted a clip about his trip to Russia, that he filmed while in Moscow. He talks about the importance of love and unity - praise the Lord for these fruits!

Thanks for the updates from your pilgrimage to Russia .... they have a beautiful National Anthem and brought tears to my eyes too. Remembering how much they suffered during atheist communism.
I read on a facebook page from someone else who was there - that she didn't see any Russian Orthodox there ??

Yes, Karnala, it is true that the Russian Orthodox were almost totally absent. A priest from the patriarchate did participate in an interfaith event in a synagogue but he simply read out pre-written comments and showed no interest in proceedings. One Russian TLIG person participated also but my own feelings about the situation is that the Lord allowed it all to be like this so that one day, the Russian Church will recognize in sadness that they allowed God's prophet and her followers to visit their country without recognising them. That will be a lesson in itself.

I feel confident that the video of the pilgrimage, with its playing of the National Anthem at the start, will one day appear on Russian TV.

Russia is especially dear to Me; indeed today Russia is like an open field ready to be sown; her soil is ready to receive any seed; I have given revelations through My Spirit to be sown in her; nobody will be allowed to lay down any other foundation than My very Own foundation; (October 25, 1992)

The Lord has given so many messages and prophecies concerning Russia .... and their National Anthem being honoured at TLIG, to be on tv would be a blessing. There's a photo on facebook of Berel Lazar, a Chief Rabbi of Russia at the pilgrimage and I believe there are still some Orthodox Jews living in the Ukraine.

karnala thanks - I dont go on facebook . I would not have seen other wise. That is a heartening sight. Some day I really would love to receive the honour of a blessing from a Rabbi
Because they are God's chosen people. By honouring them you honour him. Unity is a theme in scriptures and seems its overlooked by many. Blessed are....

David, very sad to hear so few Russian orthodox were there. Disappointment has been a steady theme for me with tlig. All my efforts to personally introduce people have met with rejection, indifference.
Leaving me discouraged and well rethinking my approach.
Please God the Lord and his Mother- will open up the way after all God decides Gods will be done...

The following report from Vassula has just been sent out:

Short report of the meeting in the Russian Department for External Church Relation.

Yolla Bechara obviously asked that Department to have a meeting with Metropolitan Hilarion with the Eastern Church clergy. You will notice they write to her, although she had sent all the VIP list to them for a general meeting. So they knew whom we had with us, that is why they came along to that meeting. The letter of invitation was originally written in Russian signed by Metropolitan Hilarion who was in Athens while we were in Russia but translated by them in English. It came from the Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relation.

It is an honour for our TLIG pilgrimage to have had some contact with the Russian Church, coming from this Department and especially by Metropolitan Hilarion who wrote the letter signing it. We have to understand especially the first line that says, “On behalf of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia” etc. And second paragraph, “His Holiness welcomes the visit” etc.

Metropolitan Hilarion is the second man in Russia after the Patriarch. I had met him privately years back at a private audience.

Metropolitan Hilarion asked his Assistant Archimandrite Fr. Philaret, who is vice-chairman of that Department to meet us there during his absence. Fr. Philaret spoke first about that Department and somewhat about the Church of Russia. Then he asked if we had any questions. Cardinal Toppo wanted first to speak about the reason of our visit to Russia. Then he introduced me and TLIG. He had actually no questions. Then others spoke as well, but Fr. Eugene spoke clearly about the importance of unifying the dates of Easter, which was very good. In the end I spoke briefly, as time was short, about my calling, and of the Messages of 32 years, and about the reason of our pilgrimage, giving Fr. Philaret the translated version of the Russian Prophecies in booklets and the One Book in English as he spoke perfectly well English. I gave the same copies for Metropolitan Hilarion, which I dedicated to both

Valantis, the cameraman videoed our meeting.

Fr. Philaret recognised Yolla and Theodora who had previously met him during the time of preparation of the pilgrimage and had befriended him some weeks back. He seemed delighted to recognise them and hugged both of them.

That meeting went well, and we really thank Metropolitan Hilarion for welcoming the TLIG group on behalf of Patriarch Kirill.

    In Christ,

The letter from the Patriarchate, referred to in Vassula's report, can be viewed in the original and in translation at:

    Thanks for the Ashfin video.
What powerful testimony. Really what True Life in God is all about
This is where revival begins..and that photo above David should be front page news.

Those present are blessed to be at the front line of Gods plan.
The UN governments, political proggrammes all irrelevant.
    Here is where the real
    Peace initiative takes place!

I watched a few other videos by Afshin, and the man is completely on fire for God! No wonder Vassula wants to team up with him.

His presentations are all very powerful, but I was particularly touched by this video, in which he talks about the conversion of members of his family and his mother's prayer for her sons: that the Lord not allow them to die of disease or other natural cause, but that they receive the honour to die as martyrs for Christ.

I mean, most cradle Catholics aren't able to ask for this for themselves and this man's mother prays it for her sons.

What converts, they put the rest of us to shame.

In this video Afshin is baptizing Muslims in the ocean in Turkey, during Ramadan:

I'm not sure what to make of the choice of the video posted Karnala, but I wanted to point out for those who don't know, that Afshin is protestant and has a ministry of evangelization in several countries, with a special love for evangelizing Muslims. Protestants have different rules about who can baptize and in what circumstances.

I didn't intend for this thread to become focused on Afshin, but I do look forward to seeing his testimony at the pilgrimage in Russia along with all the others.

This video stood out for me Andree, after I went to the video you posted. I thought Afshin has truly converted and believes in Jesus, for him to be baptising during Ramadan.

I feel that the involvement of Afshin Javid in the pilgrimage is significant. Although held in a Russian Orthodox country, the participation of the Russian Orthodox during the pilgrimage was minimal. The 'emergence' of protestant Afshin was a surprise but maybe it teaches us something.

In his talk, Afshin explained that after his experiences with Jesus and his conversion, he found himself rather puzzled and confused by all the different Christian denominations! And consequently, he was amazed to find in the TLIG group all the different denominations living and praying together. He was impressed and encouraged by it. I think we are going to see much more of Ashfin Javid in True Life in God.

Thank you for clarifying Karnala. I share your views about Afshin's conversion, and yours too David, about his presence in TLIG. I'm wondering if the Lord isn't starting to pull all His children towards Him now. We see the shadow of a split hanging over the Church right now, but we have to trust that Grace is also touching many souls who will unite out of love for Jesus. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Afshin in TLIG - that would be a big blessing!

Afshin is in this youtube with Vassula:

The pilgrimage being spoken about in this video (copied from Ashfin Javid's channel) is in preparation. When finalised, details will appear on the TLIG pilgrimages website at

I've edited your post, karnala, (as well as the YouTube info) to clarify things a bit.

As Vassula has said, Ashfin is in a bit of a rush. And for Vassula to say this, that really means a rush :) !

A lot of work still has to be done before anything can be announced.

Thank you for posting this David. I watched it because other pilgrims had told me his talk was amazing.

But I have to admit that I am disappointed with this video since there are several cuts that leave out many details of his conversion.

Is there an uncut version of his testimony? If so, I'd love to see it.

In a strange way I also thought the video hadn't quite captured Ashfin's presentation as it seemed on the day. But I'm not quite sure what you mean by the 'cuts'. I noticed one or two little moments were not there but nothing significant was missing that I'm aware of.
  24. andree

    andree Well-Known Member

I was going to post all the cuts that I noticed, but thought it would be too much information so I deleted the details that I had noted. Now I'll have to watch the video again.

I do remember the snip @ 11:05 mark right after Afshin says he told God that he would accept whatever truth he gave him to explain why Jesus would appear to a Muslim. The video cuts and resumes when he explains that a figure is standing next to him.

My TLIG friend gave me details about his testimony that I do not hear in the video (for example : about Afshin taunting victims who were being hanged), so I'll watch the video again and note other cuts & post the information later.

With the cuts, I'd say that this video isn't one of his best testimonies that is on the internet. It's really a shame to shorten it.

I just watched it again and here are the places where I noticed cuts:

At 4:07, 4:39, 4:45, 5:08 (after he says he has 30 illegal passports), 10:08 (after his teacher tells him not to ask too many questions), 10:41 (after he hears voice that says "why would Jesus help you?"), 11:05 (after he tells God that he'll accept whatever truth He reveals to him), 13:30, 18:28 (seems like they cut applause), 19:45 (after he tells Jesus to send him to convert sinners)

And finally, the video cuts off what Vassula has to say at the very end of the talk.

All I can say is that the video leaves me wanting to hear the parts that were cut!

Well, andree, you obviously have access to a complete, uncut, recording of Ashfin's testimony! Is it just the audio or is it a video?

Let me just say that it is Vassula herself who has chosen the bits to remove. I suspect they are well chosen.

I have watched a few of his testimonies on the internet, like this one, which is good, and this one too. They are interesting because he gives varying details of his life and conversion. And I just noticed this recent video testimony done in Greece, with Vassula sitting up front next to him! I haven't watched that last one yet though, but it seems to be a TLIG meeting, so I will definitely watch it when I have time.
