May life be a time not to have or possess, but to love.

The Pontiff addressed in these terms the Arabic-speaking visitors present in the General Audience of Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018, held in St. Peter’s Square.

“I greet warmly the Arabic-speaking pilgrims, in particular those that have come from the Middle East,” said the Pontiff in Italian, before being translated by his secretary, Monsignor Yoannis Lahzi Gaid, Coptic priest from Egypt.

“Dear brothers and sisters, love with goods, take advantage of the ways you have available to you to love as you can. So that life is not a time to have and possess, but to love.”

“May God bless you,” he said.
